Kedarnath, Badrinath and Joshimath Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Meet our driver at Haridwa Station/ Bus Stand / hotel & drive for Guptkashi via Moolgarh&Lambgoan. Enroute you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara. The Mandakini river comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi, visit ArdhNarishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival in Guptakashi. Overnight stay at Guptakashi.

Guptakashi:-The name GuptKashi means "Hidden Kashi”. Mythology describes how when the Pandava brothers were searching for a glimpse of Shiva, Shivji first concealed himself at Guptkashi, but later fled from them further up the valley to Kedarnath, where the Pandavas finally got their wish fulfilled. There are more tangible connections as well-the Kedarnath pandas (priests) live in Guptkashi during the winter months, and after the Kedarnath temple closes for the winter, the image of Kedarnath passes through GuptKashi on its way to Ukhimath (across the valley), where it stays for the winter.

Day 2
Morning after breakfast, drive for Sonprayag for trekking of kedarnath. (You have to leave hotel too early in the morning). Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

By Helicopter: Morning our driver will transfer you to your pre-book Helipad. After coming back to helipad our car will drop you at Hotel for rest.

By Trek: Morning our driver will drop you at Sonprayag then you have to take local jeep for Gaurikund & then your trek will start for kedarnath ji. After darshan you follow same & back to Sonprayag. There is a big parking issue so driver will park the vehicle at other place if his contact no. is not working then you have to arrange other taxi or wait for your driver & send the message any other
Day 3
Morning visit kedarnath Temple for pooja and after breakfast, checkout from hotel. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath Weather - Due to its high altitude the weather in Kedarnath remains cold for most part of the year. Summer here is cool and pleasant while winter is severe. During summer season the temperature varies around 20°Celsius. Light woolen wear is recommended. Winter season in Kedarnath is severe with mercury falling to as low as 0°Celsius. During this time the place experiences snowfall as well. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually avoided by tourists.
Day 4
Morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath. Check in to the hotel arrival in Badrinath. Pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal& Aarti in evening. Brahamakapal is significant for PinddanShraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana, VyasGufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River. Just within the 3 kms. of Badrinath ji. Overnight stay at Badrinath.
Badrinath ji is one of the 'Ancient Four Dhams' and one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van", meaning "forest of berries".

TaptKund: Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bath before entering the Badrinath temple.

ManaVillage: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.

Vasundhara : As the name suggests, vasundhara is a magnificent water fall. This place is 5 kms. From Badrinath out of which 2 kms. Is motorable up to Mana.

BhimPul : On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge, lies over the roaring Saraswati river. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.

VyasGufa (cave): Near Mana Village, this is a rock-cave where VedVyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic commentaries.
Badrinath Weather: The average maximum temperature will be around 18° Celsius and the average minimum is 8° Celsius. Warm and woolen clothes are hence required for a stay in Badrinath throughout the year. Winter in Badrinath is often accompanied by snow falls. Winter is very chilly with an average temperature of 5° Celsius. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually closed for tourists.
Day 5
Morning after breakfast, driver for Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Visit on the way Narsingh Temple in Joshimath later drive back to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Check into the hotel arrival in Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

Joshimath is situated on the slopes above the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. Of the four 'Maths' established by AdiShankaracharya, Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath. The idol is brought down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people to worship. There are many other temples in the township. The most important is the temple of NarSingh with the idol of Lord Vishnu. The left arm of this deity is getting destroyed with time and the popular belief holds that the day the arm completely withers Badrinath valley will cease to exist and the Gods will transfer the residence into the neighboring Niti Valley at BhavishyaBadri.

Rudraprayagis one of the PanchPrayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River. It is confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. Kedarnath, a Hindu holy town is located 86 km from Rudraprayag.

Day 6
Morning after breakfast, drive for Rishikesh. Rishikesh 'place of sages' is celebrated as spiritual town on the bank of Ganga and is surrounded by Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • ArrivalAll bookings for airlines/hotel accommodation/ ground transportation are pre-blocked well in advance. The company is liable to pay penalties to all their suppliers/vendors if these services are not released within the mentioned time frame. If the passengers desire to cancel the tour due to any reason, they shall make an application in writing to that effect, along with the original receipt issued by the company. Such cancellation will attract the cancellation charges given below. The company reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to its departure without assigning any reason. The tour price paid by the prospective passengers shall be returned by the company by &lsquoA/C payee&rsquo cheque against receipt only, and no compensation and/or interest shall be paid in any case. Cancellation charges for any ticket/ Air reservation are applicable as per the rules of airlines/railways. Air ticket cancellation charges for special fares if paid by the passengers are NON-REFUNDABLE. Any refund payments will be returned to the Passengers after receipt of the refund from respective airlines/railways in the company&rsquos bank account and only after deducting the processing charges.
  • Refund:
  • Refunds if any, for amendments and/or cancellations will be paid directly to the passengers strictly by &lsquoA/C payee&rsquo cheque, in Indian Rupees at the prevailing rate of exchange within 45 days, as per Reserve Bank of Indian Rules and Regulations, irrespective of whether the tour payments were in part in foreign currency. No refund will be payable, for any unused portion of tour, due to whatsoever reason. No refund will be made in cash. Partly utilised tour becomes non-refundable in all circumstances.

  • Passenger&rsquos signature on the booking form or payment of the registration amount shall mean acceptance in totality of the &lsquoTerms and Conditions&rsquo contained herein by the passenger(s). In case of one or more, but not all passengers signing the &lsquoBooking Form&rsquo, it shall be deemed that the others have duly authorised the concerned signing passenger/s on their behalf. There is no contract between the company and passengers until the company has received the initial registration deposit in accordance with the procedures in the brochure. The initial deposit just ensures a seat or participation on the tour but does not entitle any services such as air tickets, visas, hotel accommodations, until the full payment has been received. The full payment must be received in accordance with the procedures laid down in this brochure. If full payment is not paid in time, the company reserves the right to cancel the booking with subsequent loss of deposit and apply the cancellation charges as mentioned herein.
  • The company reserves the right at any time and for any

  • To cancel the application of any of the prospective passengers without assigning for any reason after acceptance of the deposit, but prior to commencement of the tour. In the event of the company terminating the contract, the company may refund the deposit without payment of any interest To amend, alter, vary or withdraw any tour, holiday, excursion, flight routing or facility it has advertised or published or, to substitute a hotel or air/rail/bus journey or independent contractor of similar class of dispute regarding the same To amend, alter, vary or withdraw the discounts/benefits or the priority booking of bus seats given, if the minimum registration amount is not paid at the time of booking or cheque is dishonoured.
  • If there are not enough passengers for any particular tour and the company decides to operate the tour with available participation below the stipulated number or if the passenger(s) are required to travel as &lsquoIndividual Travelers&rsquo, the company reserves the right to collect additional amounts from the passengers. Passenger(s) travelling as individual travellers in such cases will not be provided certain services including that of tour escorts, group activities, meals and the passenger(s) may travel with some amendments, such as seat in coach airport transfers which are fixed times, etc.
  • LIABILITY:
  • The liability of the company is restricted to the making of reservation/facilitation in accordance with the passenger&rsquos requirements. The liability of the company will cease on the issue of a ticket, reservation and travel to the passenger. Company is not liable for any loss of person or property caused or damaged or suffered by the passenger on account of deficiency in services by any independentcontractor may it be any
  • airline/hotel/transporter/restaurant/sightseeing. Any gesture of courtesy extended by the company to the passenger to minimise such loss or damage will not constitute to admission of such liability or a waiver. The company shall in no circumstances whatsoever be liable to the passenger or any other person travelling for any loss or expense incurred due to:LOSS OF PRIORITY OR LIFE:
  • Any death, personal injury, sickness, accident, loss, delay, discomfort, increased expenses, consequential loss and/or damage to baggage or personal effects however caused. In case of injury/damage/death of any passenger due to accident of coach/vehicle/public transport or due to any calamities whatsoever during the tour, company shall not be held responsible and passenger shall have no right to any claim or demand any compensation.Train/Flight delays, rescheduling/cancellation of train/flights, inter-connection occurring due to airline problems and/or any change in train/flight schedule or meals not being served Best Tours and Forex Private Limited is also not responsible for any alternate arrangements and the passengers have no right to claim any loss or consequences arising due to the same. Any overstay expenses due to delay/changes/cancellations in air, bus, ship, train or cancellation of special bogie or other services due to sickness, weather conditions, strike, war, quarantine, or any other cause whatsoever. Sightseeing missed and/or the program being curtailed after commencement of the tour and/or before the due period due to any unavoidable circumstances and any reason beyond the company&rsquos control such as political, natural calamity, monument under renovation, heavy rush at sightseeing places, road traffic congestion etc All the loss or expenses will have to be borne by the passengers. Arising in any way out of this contract in respect of any tour, holiday, excursion facility which exceeds the total amount paid or agreed to be paid for the tour, and shall in no case include any consequential loss or additional expense whatsoever. If in the event of the passenger(s) is booked on a particular train/airline on a particular date due to certain reasons beyond the control of the company the passenger(s) are not allowed to board the train/flight, the passenger(s) shall not hold the company responsible for the same and no claim whatsoever can be made by tour participant against the company. The company shall not be responsible and/or liable for any damage or loss caused to the passenger(s) due to reasons beyond the control of the company. The company is not liable for any loss due to negligence or technical fault or any other reason whatsoever due to change, amendment or cancellation by Airline.
  • COMPLAINTS OR GRIEVANCES:
  • If any passenger has any complaint in respect of services provided by any of the independent contractors, the passenger shall immediately notify the same to the independent contractor in writing, and a copy thereof shall be handed over to the tour manager, to enable the company to take up the matter with the independent contractor. Any claim or complaint by the passenger must be notified to the company in writing within 7 days after the tour completion date. No claim notified to the company beyond this period will be entertained and the company shall incur no liability in respect of thereof. The company reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking/terminate a passenger on tour in event of unreasonable behaviour at any time. Best Tours and Forex Private Limited will not be responsible if any celebrity does not turn up on the tour due to the reasons beyond the control of the company.
  • SINGLE GUEST:
  • Guest travelling alone must pay single supplement charges if a suitable partner for double/triple sharing is not available or the earlier partner cancels the tour before the departure. For international tours passengers who join the tour directly must possess airline tickets (including internal travel) and visas as per itinerary.
  • TRAVEL DOCUMENTS:
  • It shall be the sole responsibility of the passenger(s) to hold valid travel s and statutory clearances, such as passports, visas, confirmed air/rail tickets, insurance and medical insurance certificates, any other used to confirm an arrangement with the service provider and other statutory certificates, to enable passengers to travel on tour. All s are non-transferable. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/photo identity holder, some carriers will deny carriage if the name varies and the booking may be cancelled. Your passport must be valid for at least nine months subsequent to the scheduled departure date of the tour with sufficient number of blank pages for visa purposes. It is the passenger&rsquos responsibility to collect in time, the necessary travel s or other s from the booking office. Prior to the travel it is the responsibility of the passengers to check the scheduled departure time of the airline or rail. The coach drivers, mostly on international routes, are bound by specific rules. Any sightseeing missed due to delay by any passenger is non-refundable. The company solely reserves the right to publish the passenger&rsquos photograph or group photograph taken during the tour. The distances, temperatures and pre/post tour accommodation prices given in the brochure are approximate and subject to change.
  • PRIVACY OF INFORMATION:
  • The company treats all information furnished by the passenger as confidential and will share only the necessary information with airline, hotels and service providers who will provide services to passengers during their tour. The company may be constrained to disclose the information furnished by passengers, if such disclosure is required by law or by an order by court or the rules, regulations and inquiry by government or statutory agency having regulatory authority over the company. Each of these conditions shall be severable from others if any provision declared invalid, illegal or unenforceable, then remaining provisions nevertheless have full force and effect.
